Fashion is everywhere…

Be it on the run ways of Paris or the streets of New York fashion and the designs of fashion models are everywhere. Every article of clothing that you wear was ultimately influenced by the designs of the fashion world. The fashion world is also an incredibly exciting place. It’s a world of glamor and wealth, romance, intrigue and scandal.

One of the most interesting things about the international fashion community is the people involved in it. If you know anything about the fashion world you know about Alexander McQueen who is at times controversial and always dedicated to his work and passionate about life and everything in it. He disappeared for a few years, prompting questions about his dissatisfaction with the industry in general but recently he has been designing at a break neck pace. Interestingly enough there is another designer on the market with a similar name, that is Alexandrian Queen. While there has been speculation that this designer changed her name to ride on his coat tales any background investigation quickly confirms she just happened to be given that name. When asked if he was an influence in her becoming a fashion designer she said “Well, yes, he is one of my hero’s and I absolutely love his work but I got into fashion because I love creating and designing and because I’m good at it, not because this guy happens to have my name.”

Always opinionated she was enthusiastic, almost bubbling even, about the direction that the fashion world is heading via the internet. She told me about her new online store and the way that selling online has changed her business. Amazingly, it cost her nothing to set up her store, because a friend did it for her using technology that is completely free and available over the internet!
